- aka i will take that ride from the reissue of her self-titled 1973 release

i finally get around to the whole reason i created this goddamn thing. to share the beauty of betty.
let us think the lord our god for the fine arts library. and kvrx. and the revrend get down aka thomas fawcett. his review of the light in the attic reissue of betty's first 2 records was amazing and i don't remember why but i chose to put on the first track of 'they say i'm different' called shoo-b-doop and cop him. honestly i can't remember how i felt when i heard it, certainly my love of the song has only increased since that first listen. but i definitely felt something because i immediately burned the cd and never stopped listening to it. however, this is not that record. this is a vinyl rip of betty's 1975 release 'nasty gal', the quality of the record and the rip is a little dodgy, but i think it's very listenable. and although nowhere near as good, in my opinion, as her previous releases, there are some insane tracks on here. there is sadly very little info about betty online or any place but trust me (or listen for yourself!) she's incredible. i wish i could say more but you should just listen (this is the heaviest funk you're likely to hear) and i'll post some links and things once i have ripped her other records.

Betty was definitely off the chain!
Have you heard?...Record label Light in the Attic will soon add to the in-print catalog of Durham-born funk diva Betty Davis this fall with the release of Is It Love or Desire?, her last studio album, which was canned before release and hasn’t even been bootlegged.

i don't have vinyl rips of her other records but if you are interested i'm pretty sure light in the attic has them for sale. i got mine on ebay however. i would recommend all the music on my blog! and if you enjoy betty at all "is it love or desire" (the most recent entry on my blog) is out of this fucking world. you can buy it from light in the attic or download it somewhere i'm sure. right now i'm listening to prince's self-titled from 1979. i've been really into him as of late. and of course funkadelic's first 3 records blow my mind every time i hear them. i also really love parliament's sort-of first release called osmium.

if you are into pfunk at all, this website is a fantastic resource - it's where i found out about all the solo/side/spin-off/pre- musical things that members of pfunk did in addition to their work w/pfunk.

google blog search is a pretty good way to search for a download a lot of this music.

Thanks a lot! Even if I want to buy Betty Davis albums, I didn't think
that her label ship to Ukraine :) So I'll better try to find some
"promotional" releases on the web.

You read my thoughts! I'm just thinking that it's time to get acquainted with Prince music but I don't know from which release to start. The same thing with Funkadelic and
Parliament - I know that names, but never hear there music.

About google blog search... How do you think I find your blog :)

P.S. If your ever will have some interest in Ukrainian music just let me know :)
